The settling tank is constructed on the right bank of Samur River adjacent to the existing structure that became redundant during 60 years operation.
The new settling tank consists of 4 main parts including the fore bay (Q=70 m3 per second), 8 settling chambers (Q=9.14 m3 per second), washing facilities and storage reservoir (Q=64 m3 per second).
The settling tank washout is planned to be hydraulically operated. The inlet is equipped with 48 vertical-lift gates with hydraulic drives.
At normal flow, supply to the settling basin (Q=70 m3 per second) is provided by the 7 chambers operating alternately for deposition settling and chamber 8 working for washout. At a lower flow supply, some chambers can be excluded from the process or all chambers can work at a reduced flow whichever option gives the best possibility of raising the cleanliness of the water. All settling tankn structures are made from precast reinforced concrete of B25, W6, F100 brands and reinforcement bars of A-III brands by State Standard 5781-82*.
Date of commencement of construction - 2005 year.
Construction period - 2 year.
