One of the largest projects carried out by our engineering center is a complex transport interchange that has no analogues in the CIS, and is located at the intersection of Heydar Aliyev and Zia Buniyatov Avenues, Baku, Azerbaijan.

The transport interchange consists of:

• 9 bridges;
• Approaches to bridges;
• Highways that are components of the interchange, having a total length of 3145.0 m.

The customer was the Ministry of Transport of Azerbaijan. 

Stage I of the project:

• The first stage of the design included 3 overpasses, access roads with a total length of 1286 m, connecting Zii Buniyatov Avenue with Heydar Aliyev Avenue and an intersection with an exit to Kara Karayev Avenue.

Stage II of the project:

• The second stage of the interchange design included the design of a parabolic metal suspended overpass with a length of L = 56.0 m, including 4 (four) separately built overpasses with a total length of 1194 m, approaches connecting Heydar Aliyev, Ziya Buniyatov, Gara Garayev avenues with the road in the direction of the airport and the village of Bakikhanov.

The distances between the metal arcs are different, and, accordingly, the heights of the axes also differ.

• I-th arc: L=68.83; Rox. = 27.61

• II-nd arc: L=65.08 m; Rh. = 26.12

It should be noted that this project included the design of an overpass with a length of the main span L = 56.0 m, suspended by parabolic metal arches.

Stage III of the project:

• The third stage of the project consisted of a cable-stayed bridge and access roads with a total length of 665 m.

For the first time in Azerbaijan, our company has designed a cable-stayed overpass with a span length of 360.0 m and a pylon height from ground level of 98.0 m.
